The world is in real need of empathy and creativity. Both are being hardened by society and covered by selfishness and delusion to a point where when you rarely come across an empathetic person or a creative being, you feel as joyful as if you have found a rare piece of treasure.
Are we able to demonstrate empathy, be vulnerable, actively listen to people, practice random acts of kindness, and feel gratitude? What is happening to our human race? It is both scary and disappointing. But we need to connect to that thin pink thread of HOPE and remember a beautiful verse in theology: Let there be light!
Our true nature is creative. Not being creative is an act of self-will; it is counter to our true nature.
Try to visualize the world without the human greed and the stupid race for power. How beautiful it would be! A piece of art. Created by an Artist. The only way to connect with any artist is by being an artist yourself.
Any talk about enlightenment and liberation is nonsense if it comes from a noncreative being. How could you connect with the Artist if you are not a piece of art yourself?
Creativity is your true nature. Can it be taught? No it is already in you, but you need to get in touch with it. You need to undergo a process of internal excavation. You don’t need to learn it; you just need to recover it. Your life is your work of art, and you are the artist.
Louis Armstrong once said, “What we play is life.” Don’t take life too seriously. As Sadhguru perfectly described it "Life can only be physically hard. Mental hardship only happens because of you. If you do it willingly, hardship becomes joyful. If you do it unwillingly, it becomes the most terrible thing. So, the question is simply one of willingness or unwillingness."
In any given moment of our life, if we do it willingly, it is like heaven; if we do it unwillingly, it is our hell. Things that you don’t like, when done willingly, become a great pleasure and a process for growth.
The process of internal excavation is to build a habit of writing down what comes to your mind, your dreams, your emotions, your big questions day after day, until you touch something from within. And you will know that it is the tip of the treasure box. Try to visit cultural places: artists, galleries, theaters. Listen to the best symphonies and read vintage, beautiful literature.
Once you are ready to leap, the net will appear.
